FROM EDO STATE ELECTION: Lagos Government reacts to the accusation from PDP that Ambode took part in poll

Lagos State Government has released charges made by the hopeful of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State, Osagie Ize-Iyamu affirming that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and his Kaduna State partner, Nasir El-Rufai were in Edo State for the race. 


An announcement marked by the State's Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde on Wednesday, portrayed the claims by the PDP competitor as rash and despicable. 

Ayorinde said Ambode was without further ado abroad for an official task and regardless should not be being in Edo State on Election Day. 

Proceeding with he said: "The Lagos State Governor served as the administrator Campaign Council constituted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his obligation finished 24 hours before the race on the grounds that no crusade should hold 24 hours to the decision and having finished his task which included showing up with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Grand Rally in Edo State prior in the month. 


"Representative Ambode has no motivation to profit to Edo State for race day and for this kind of lie to have been sold by a hopeful who should be a minister, is heedless and despicable." 

Ayorinde said Governor Ambode had plainly listed his position on the race amid the Grand Finale of the battle when he said that like Lagos where congruity has moved flawlessly well, Edo State likewise merits progression in administration. 

"That message has been passed and has been acknowledged by the dominant part of Edo indigenes and thusly there would not be any requirement for the Governor to profit to Edo for Election Day. The overall population and security agents are thus informed to overlook the edgy lies with respect to Pastor Ize-Iyamu."
